Dans le Jardin 2011
$163,500 raised through Dans le Jardin!
On May 31, The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation was proud to present the 18th edition of its Dans le Jardin cocktail-drawing event. Over 1,000 guests, inspired by the Foundation’s mission and vision, gathered for the occasion in the Grand Salon of the Montreal Hyatt Regency, raising more than $163,500. Great prizes were handed out throughout the evening, and works of art, jewelry and rare wines were also sold during a silent auction.
In the fight against breast cancer, every dollar, every word and every act counts. The sum of all these individual actions makes a real difference, further advancing our cause. This year, the event theme was community. During the evening, each guest was invited to symbolically add a drop of hope to the BCBG MAXAZARIA Fountain. Before their eyes, their donation of hope helped the fountain flow ever more powerfully—demonstrating the importance of coming together to make big changes. A beautiful sight!
Dans le Jardin is a festive gathering, celebrating the fine spring weather and the upcoming summer. It is also one of the Foundation’s most important fundraising events. “With some 1,000 participants, we were able to focus on raising the money we need to continue our work. Community seemed an appropriate theme for this huge gathering—a way to show that nurturing hope is truly a group effort,” says Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation Executive Director Suzanne LeBreux, adding, “By fall, the Foundation will have donated over $20 million to Quebec’s medical-science community. We are proud to contribute to research and development of new treatments and medications against the disease. The money raised tonight also allows us to fund broader-scale projects, providing direct assistance to people affected by breast cancer and those who care for them.”
Finally, it is important to note that Dans le Jardin took place under the co-chairmanship of Me Caroline Biron, Woods LLP, and Chantale C. Goyette, BNP Paribas (Canada).
