Virgin Radio is proud to announce that  the annual Shave To Save campaign has raised an outstanding $3.7 million over the last 10 years to benefit the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. 

Virgin Radio’s Shave to Save kicked off in 2000, when the radio station decided to use its best asset, the listeners,  to raise money for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. Responding to the call of their favourite radio station, thousands of listeners donated money to have Virgin Radio personalities show up at their offices, and schools, to shave a head- or thousands!

“What started out as such a simple concept 10 years ago, has grown into a real support group for many breast cancer survivors.” said Cat Spencer, of The Virgin Radio Breakfast Show with Cat & Lisa. “I was impressed with the large amount women and young students who got involved as the years went on. I am extremely proud of all Virgin Radio listeners who donated their time, money and hair!”

Virgin Radio’s Shave To Save will help the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation to fund more research projects, more awareness and education programs, and more support programs.

“For ten years now, the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation has had the great privilege of being supported by a staunch ally in the fight against breast cancer. Through its Shave to Save event, the entire Virgin Radio 96 family – on-air personalities, partners, listeners – has made an incredible effort to raise the funds that are so desperately needed to pursue our mission and raise our Foundation’s profile” said Suzanne LeBreux, Executive Director of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. “Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Virgin Radio 96 team for their loyalty, support, generosity and, above all, their tireless work, which has made this activity one of the fall’s biggest events for a whole decade,” she added.
