Who We Are
Word from the spokeperson of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, Mitsou Gélinas

Falling snow, cooler temperatures, increasingly excited kids… there’s no doubt about it, the Holidays are almost here! Soon, we’ll wake up on New Year’s Day and it’ll be hard to believe another year has gone by. We’ll get together with family, friends and colleagues and think back on the highs and lows of the 365 days of 2011. Above all, in keeping with tradition we’ll wish each other a memorable 2012, filled with happiness, love, prosperity and health!
Good health. That’s my wish for the New Year, for everyone facing a fight with the terrible disease that is breast cancer. No doubt some of you are getting ready for a tough challenge. Because receiving a breast cancer diagnosis means venturing into unknown territory. And that’s a terrifying thing! Others among you may be completing treatment and slowly getting your strength back, and others will be celebrating years free of cancer. And some may have just learned that you need to start the fight all over again… I hope each and every one of you will have the good fortune to enjoy this Holiday season with the people nearest and dearest to you, who can support you, and fight for and with you. Above all, never forget that you are not alone! No matter what 2012 has in store for you, the Foundation’s team is always here to help you, listen to you and give you advice. There are all kinds of services available to you, and you shouldn’t be shy about using them.
I will be thinking about all of you as I give my New Year’s wishes to my daughters, mother, sisters and girlfriends. For them and for you, I am going to wish for a healthy year – and a future without breast cancer!
